About The Artist

“If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)” is an uptempo, guitar and horn-heavy track released as the seventh single of Notes on a Conditional Form. Matty sings about his infatuation with a girl online, mostly likely coming from some sort of pornography.

The track was debuted live on February 15, 2020, in Nottingham, UK. Matty confirmed the title of the song the following day on Twitter. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1 on April 23, 2020, as the “Hottest Record in the World” with Annie Mac, and was released on streaming platforms accordingly.

The 1975 continue to tease their upcoming new album Notes on a Conditional Form with the sparkling song “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know).” The full LP will be released on May 22nd.

On “Too Shy,” singer Matty Healy details an online romance with a mystery girl. On the chorus, he sings, “She says, ‘Maybe I would like you better if you took off your clothes.'” The sound of “Too Shy” returns to the slick Eighties synthpop the band dabbled in on their debut album with plenty of saxophone throughout.

The 1975 are an English pop rock band formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Now based in Manchester,[3] the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel.

The band's origins trace to their attendance at Wilmslow High School and playing together as teenagers.[6] Gigs organised by a council worker led the band to formally sign with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. The band opened for several major acts and released a series of extended plays (Facedown, Sex, Music for Cars, IV) throughout 2012 before releasing their self-titled debut album (2013), which included the popular singles "Sex", "Chocolate", and "Robbers" reaching number one in the United Kingdom.
