About The Artist

"Lonely" is a song by American producer Diplo (as "Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley") and American band Jonas Brothers. It was released through Mad Decent and Columbia Records on September 27, 2019. The music video was also released alongside the song.

The DJ, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr., continues his exploration into country music with his latest single “Lonely” featuring Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas.

Poking fun at how Diplo, 40, livestreamed Joe, 29, and Sophie Turner‘s Las Vegas wedding earlier this year, the music video follows the deejay’s persistent attempt to contact Joe and apologize for ruining his and Sophie’s private moment.

Each time Diplo tries to text, call or FaceTime Joe, he is quickly denied. He even goes to extreme lengths to speak with the singer by contacting Nick, 27, and Kevin, 31, in hopes they’ll answer and by sending Joe a chocolate fruit arrangement with a message that reads “Call me back,” signed “Thomas Wesley (Diplo)”.

He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. Among other jobs, he has worked as a school teacher in Philadelphia. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The EP's title track was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.

During his rise to fame, Diplo worked with British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with giving him exposure in his early career. Later, he and fellow M.I.A. producer Switch created a Jamaican dancehall project and cartoon series titled Major Lazer. Since then, Diplo has worked on production and mixtape projects with many other pop artists, such as Gwen Stefani, Die Antwoord, Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Trippie Redd, Chris Brown, CL, G-Dragon, Bad Bunny, MØ and Poppy.
